A PhD graduate from the Civil Engineering Department wins Best Thesis Award Category in Higher Education National Level under the category of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in conjunction with World Water Day 2016.
Dr. Aida Tayebiyan, PhD students graduating from Water Resources Management studies, Department of Civil Engineering under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Thamer Ahmed Mohamed has won the Gold Medal for Best Thesis Award IPT national level -Siswazah Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in conjunction with World Water Day 2016.
Her thesis entitled 'Optimizing of Hydropower Reservoir System Using Genetic Algorithm for Various Climatic Scenarios', allows her to win the certificate, a plaque and a cash prize of RM 5000. The prize presentation ceremony was officiated by YB Dato Sri Dr. Haji Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment in the Water Sports Complex, Precinct 6, Putrajaya, which took place on March 24, 2016. This award is to give recognition to those who have strengthen research in the field of hydrology and water resources. The award is designed to celebrate the anniversary of World Water Day national level each year and the theme of World Water Day 2016, which was chosen by the United Nations is 'Water and Jobs'.
