Aerospace Malaysia Research Centre (AMRC)
PENGENALAN
Aerospace Malaysia Research Centre (AMRC) yang sebelum ini dikenali sebagai Aerospace Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) telah ditubuhkan pada tahun 2012. Tujuan pusat ini adalah platform untuk penyelidik Aeroangkasa untuk menyambung, berkomunikasi dan berkolaborasi dalam kerja-kerja penyelidikan mereka. Pusat ini terdiri daripada satu ketua pusat dan lima penyelidik prinsip. Pusat ini merupakan pusat pertama di Malaysia dan mempunyai rekabentuk, aerodinamik, struktur kapal terbang, kawalan, simulasi canggih, dan peralatan simulasi.
Unggulan pusat adalah pesawat ringan 4 orang duduk iaitu Cirrus SR 20. Pesawat ini digunakan untuk pengajaran sarjana supaya para pelajar terdedah kepada pesawat kerja yang sebenar. Selain itu beberapa kerja penyelidikan penting telah dijalankan di kawasan kawalan pesawat dengan menggunakan pesawat ini. Satu lagi pusat utama ialah Persidangan Antarabangsa Komputasi Kejuruteraan dan Sains Kesihatan (ICCMEH). Persidangan tahunan ini adalah persidangan bersama oleh AMRC UPM, Manipal University dan Kyutech Institute of Technology (KIT) Jepun. Persidangan lalu telah menarik banyak penyelidik dari lebih dari 10 buah negara di seluruh dunia. Tumpuan persidangan ini adalah pada simulasi dan kaedah berangka maju.
Objektif AMRC:
- Untuk berkhidmat dan memudahkan aktiviti penyelidikan dalam pelbagai bidang teknologi aeroangkasa.
- Untuk mengukuhkan kerjasama dengan agensi kerajaan, rakan kongsi industri dan organisasi dalam teknologi aeroangkasa melalui perundingan dan perkhidmatan.
- Menyebarkan pengetahuan khusus melalui pembelajaran dan latihan.
- Untuk meningkatkan kesedaran masyarakat mengenai teknologi aeroangkasa.
VISI
Menjadi pusat penyelidikan utama dalam aplikasi dan teknologi aeroangkasa di seluruh asia.
MISI
Untuk berkhidmat dan memudahkan aktiviti penyelidikan dalam pelbagai bidang aeroangkasa.
