Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Malaysian Society for Engineering & Technology (MySET) has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The MOU document was signed by Prof Datin Paduka Dato’ Dr Aini Ideris, Vice Chancellor of UPM and Prof Ir Megat Johari Megat Mohd Noor, President of MySET. 

The signing ceremony was held during the 11th National Engineering & Technology Conference and MySET annual general meeting at Bangi Resort Hotel.

Prof Datin Paduka Aini highlighted that the collaboration between UPM and MySET can bring benefits to both parties and impact the society at large. She also thank MySET for the student excellence award provided to UPM’s Engineering students since 2010. This year MySET-Ikhtisas award was given to Miss Nashratul Shera Mohamad Ghazali from the Bachelor of Food and Process Engineering programme.

“MySET and UPM have organised many activities together such as seminar, conferences, training & workshops. The outcome of the activities can be seen to impact the community at national and international level,” said Prof Ir Megat. 

Prof Nor Kamariah Noordin, Dean of Faculty of Engineering UPM added that, “It is an honour to host an esteemed learnered society like MySET. UPM has provided an office space for MySET to operate at the Faculty of Engineering UPM since its inception in 2007.”
