24th November 2021. Bangi-A PhD student from the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, Tarique Jamal has won The Best Oral Presenter Award at Wood & Biofibre International Conference (WOBIC 2021), held on 23-24 November 2021 at Hotel Bangi Resort Selangor, Malaysia.

The paper title is “A Descriptive Study of Arrowroot (Maranta arundinacea) Based Biocomposites”. He is supervised by Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohd Sapuan Salit, Prof. Khalina Abdan, Associate Prof. Dr. Edi Syams Zainudin and Dr. Ahmad Ilyas Rushdan. WOBIC 2021 carries the theme Wood and Biofibre-transformation towards circular economy.

The key concept of the circular economy is to reduce wastes and to increase the reproducibility of products.

May the Faculty of Engineering continue to excel in producing quality students in saving the future of the environment through recycling technology.
