Serdang, 15 June – The Faculty of Engineering, UPM has successfully implemented the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony between Universiti Putra Malaysia and Airbus Malaysia at KopiMesin x J.Lounge, Faculty of Engineering, UPM. This Memorandum of Understanding was represented by YBhg. Dato’ Prof. Ir. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah, Vice Chancellor of Universiti Putra Malaysia and YBrs. En. Burhanudin Noordin Ali, Head of Airbus Representative in Malaysia. In addition, the ceremony was also attended by YBhg. Prof. Ir. Dr. Abd. Rahim Abu Talib, Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Mr. Paul Coignec, Head of Human Resources Asia Pacific, YBhg. Professor Ir. Dr. Mohd Zainal Abidin Ab Kadir, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Ms. Tammy Lim, Head of Human Resources Airbus Malaysia as well as staff from the Department of Aerospace Engineering (KAA).

Through this MoU and the continuation of the various successful programs and collaborations between the KAA Department and Airbus Malaysia since 2021, the company, which has extensive experience in the aerospace industry locally and internationally, is able to become an important strategic partner in supporting talent development and the advancement of the country's aerospace industry. This collaboration can also strengthen aspects of teaching, research, graduate talent development, and student marketability in line with current industry needs.

The purpose of the MoU signing is to focus on several key areas such as:

1. Internationalization of University and Industry Collaboration thus increasing the university's international reputation and visibility;
2. Exchange of Expertise through opportunities for exchange of expertise, namely the involvement of industry experts, student industrial training, academic staff attachment programs, and knowledge sharing between academia and industry;
3. Increased Graduate Marketability through the development of technical skills, soft skills, and exposure to real industry experience.
   
   

Through this MoU, a series of programs between students and companies are also targeted, including site visits, career talks, sharing of knowledge and experiences, and student involvement in the annual Airbus Sustainable Week program.
