100 students Joined the Lego Robotics workshop organized by the Department. Gen. Electrical and Electronics
Serdang: There were about 100 primary students enjoying the Lego Robotics workshop organized by the Faculty of Engineering, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), held in the Faculty yesterday.
According to the Head of Departmentfor Electrical and Electronic Engineering,Assoc. Prof. Dr Wan Zuha Wan Hasan, the workshop program is beneficial to primary school students to learn about making robots.
"This program was first run by the club to attract children to the robot technology. In this workshop, the facilitator of Robotics Club UPM helping and teaching them how to build a robot out of Lego.The learning process involves fundamental physics, engineering and test the efficiency of primary school students," he said.
According to Wan Zuha, module provided can generate creative thinking of children. "This kids are given the opportunity to build a lego robot technology from Germany. Once completed creativity using Lego, the students will be exposed to the 'programming' to move the robot with respect to monitoring UPM students, "he said.
Wan Zuha said the program was held in conjunction with the school holidays. "We plan to hold a workshop every week at the school near them in Bangi, Serdang, Semenyih, Cyberjaya and Kuala Lumpur. This workshop will also serve as an early exposure to the students before the competition to be held in September, organized by SASBADI Store," he said.
UPM Robotics Club President Muhammad Syazwan Hassan said, this program is accompanied by 24 students of UPM as a facilitator begins May 31 and ends today.
