Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2018 (KLIMS2018), the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur is held from 23 November to 2 December 2018. The Malaysian Automotive Association (MAA) program held once in five years is the best platform for automotive and industry companies to introduce their latest product to the public. Putra Motorsport Team (PMT) has been received an invitation from the organizers to bring our latest racing car, Lekir to the exhibition.

PMT takes this golden opportunity to introduce the motorsport field among students to the public. They also have the opportunity to exchange opinions and receive advice and guidance from engineers and those who are more experienced in the automotive field. This opportunity, experience and knowledge can not be found in the classroom. There are 13 students involved in the program namely:

The event is also attended by PMT's Head of Director, Dr. Khairil Anas Md Rezali and  Mr. Mohd Hafizul Hashim during the exhibition.

Lekir named as the Malay warrior were built entirely by 13 students within a three-month period. Lekir represented Universiti Putra Malaysia who is also the sole representative from Malaysia to Student Formula Japan 2018. The weight of the formula car is 250kg and uses the Suzuki GSX-R600 engine.

The PMT booth was visited by YB Anthony Loke Siew Fook, Transport Minister, and YB Datuk Aishah Ahmad, MAA President. They hope that UPM will continue to be active in automotive research and development to develop automotive technology and industry in Malaysia.
