Serdang, 10 September – A Minutes of Meeting Writing Training has been organized by the Training Unit, Faculty of Engineering (FK), on 10 September 2024 at the FK Seminar Hall.
A total of 25 staff members from the Faculty of Engineering, including the Management and Professional Group (Non-Academic), Executive Officers (Grades PE5 - PE3), and Support Staff (Secretaries, Administrative Assistants, and Operations Assistants), participated in this training aimed at enhancing their knowledge and empowering their skills in writing meeting minutes as part of their job responsibilities.

The training was fully conducted by Puan Lailawati Bakar, Deputy Registrar of FK, who has over 20 years of experience in writing minutes of meeting, based on her previous roles, including Secretary of the Senate Meeting at Universiti Putra Malaysia and Secretary of the Deans' Council Meeting at Universiti Putra Malaysia, among others.

Participants were exposed to four course scopes: Basic Introduction, Summary, Theory, and Practice of Minutes Writing. They also learned about the responsibilities of meeting secretaries, the meeting management timeline, meeting document management, the importance of meeting minutes, and more.
Through this training, participants were able to enhance their knowledge (understanding the need for structured and high-quality minutes writing), improve their skills (practicing the appropriate format, language style and sentence structure), and boost their confidence in taking and producing more efficient and effective meeting minutes.
