Prof. Harijono received International Academy of Astronautics Engineering Sciences Award
MEXICO, 17 Sept - Prof. Ir. Dr. Harijono Djojodihardjo a lecturer from Department of Aerospace Engineering Universiti Putra Malaysia received an award for a significant and lasting contributions to the advancement of the astronautical sciences by the International Academy of Astronautics.
The Secretary General, Dr.Jen-Michel Contant presented the award during the Global Climate Change Conference and Summit here in Mexico City to other receivers as well.
The International Academy of Astronautics Awards are given annually to IAA members for outstanding achievement in basic science, engineering science, life science and social science without limit of nationality.In fact, it is one of the highest awards given to the members (academicians) of The International Academy of Astronautics as a recognition of the particular member scientific or engineering achievements.
Professor Harijono also said that he is very grateful to receive such award. He added "I consider it as further motivation to carry out scientific and engineering work for the betterment of mankind and the global environment. I would like to work and cooperate with the International Academy of Astronautics and other scientific and engineering communities for the above purposes"
Meanwhile in the same ceremony two years ago, another Malaysian, Prof.Dr. Mazlan Othman has received the International Academy of Astronautics Social Science Award in 2013.
