Kuala Lumpur, October 13, 2019 - Research, Development & Innovation Expo 2019 was held on October 10 - 13, 2019 at MITEC, Kuala Lumpur.

Among the activities are R&D Contest, Pitching Contest, R&D Exhibition and Innovation, Intellectual Property Management Seminar, Education and Industry Workshop and Town Hall with Industry & Research Institute. UPM took this opportunity to work together with the organizer to secure the success of the expo by participating in the R&D Competition.

UPM was represented by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamed Thariq bin Haji Hameed Sultan as Project Leader and assisted by Muhammad Imran Najeeb and Dr. Adi Azriff Basri from Department of Aerospace Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, UPM had won 1^st prize in University / College category for the Machinery and Equipment cluster. They had received prize money worth RM10,000.00 and a certificate of participation presented by YAB TUAN AMIRUDIN BIN SHARI, Menteri Besar Selangor.

This success was the result of a collaboration between a group of researchers from UTHM led by Prof. Dr. Yusri bin Yusof and Malaysia Unmanned Drones Activist Society (MUDAS) led by Mohamad Noor Bin AB Rahim and Mr. William Robert Alvisse. Thanks also to Ahli Majlis Daerah Kuala Langat, Mr Irwan and Mr Razali who have worked together with the university on community projects from the beginning until now.

The Engineering Faculty is very proud on the achievements of UPM researchers and encourages all researchers to continue the success in putting UPM on an internationally recognized platform. Well done.
