Aerospace Malaysia Research Centre (AMRC)

ABOUT US

Aerospace Malaysia Research Centre (AMRC) previously known as Aerospace Manufacturing Research Centre (AMRC) was established in the year of 2012. The purpose of the centre is to be a platform for the Aerospace researchers to connect, communicate and collaborate in their research works. The centre consists of one head of the centre and five principle researchers. This is centre is the first centre of its kind in Malaysia and specialized in design, aerodynamics, aircraft structure, controls, advanced simulation, and simulation tools.

The centre’s flagship is the 4 seaters light aircraft namely Cirrus SR 20.  This aircraft is used for undergraduate teaching so that the students are exposed to the real working aircraft. Furthermore several important research work has been conducted in the area of aircraft control by using this aircraft. Another flagship of the centre is the International Conference of Computational in Engineering and Health Sciences (ICCMEH). This annual conference is a jointly organised conference by AMRC UPM, Manipal University and Kyutech Institute of Technology (KIT) Japan. Past conference has attracted many researchers from more than 10 countries around the world. The focus of this conference is on the advanced simulation and numerical methodsdunia.

Objective AMRC :

  1. To serve and facilitate interdisciplinary research activities in the field of aerospace technologies.
  2. To strengthen the collaboration with the government agencies, industrial partners and organisations in aerospace technologies via consultation and services.
  3. To disseminate specialized knowledge through education and training.
